BY THE UK SAILOR JERRY TEAM
The 10th London International Tattoo Convention, took place in London at the end of September and Sailor Jerry was present to help celebrate one of the most respected and inspiring body art conventions in the world.
The memory of the father of old school tattooing, Norman Sailor Jerry Collins lives on through events like this, where the world’s elite tattoo artists gather to practice and showcase their art. Sailor Jerry presented our pop up clothing store and cocktail bar. It’s a fantastic gathering of friends and likeminded people who come to appreciate this wonderful art.
This was my 4th year working at the London Tattoo Convention and each year has proved better than the last. This year we showcased a selection from the ‘Things & Miniature Ink’ exhibition, where around 150 artists were asked to produce a postcard size piece of work to be sold as part of the show with the proceeds going towards the charity Sarcoma UK.
My favourite part of course is the Sailor Jerry bar, where we got to hang out with our friends, tattoo artists, traders, musicians and general punters, we had such a good time when the shop closed, the bar really came alive and was the hub of the evenings activities. Catching up with old friends and all the people we’ve met over the years over a Hellfire or Old Ironsides really doesn’t get any better than this.
