With a decade of tattooing under her belt, it ain’t surprising that Melissa Freeman designed a winning bike for our ‘My Work Speaks for Itself’ contest. She’s been drawing since she can remember, and it’s no surprise that Sailor Jerry has been an inspiration to her from the start. “I had always been an artist, but his designs taught me how to draw tattoos. His influence has shaped my career and my style of artwork.”
Her badass eagle design is strewn across a nude-colored tank, which she says was inspired by Harley as an American icon “What’s more American than an eagle?” We agree, Melissa. And her connection to Harley-Davidson is even more wild: She went into labor on the back of her husband’s bike. “The kid came out the womb loving motorcycles!”
