Mikabomb was put here to smash guitars, and stereotypes. They fit in well with the current wave of Japanese rock 'n' roll bands, but they're based in London. They also get mistaken for a "girl band" but they have an all male rhythm section. On top of all of this, their drummer is the type you might run into going down the pub.
When singer Mika moved to London (from Japan) 10 years ago she just wanted one thing: to start a killer rock 'n' roll band. And she did just that. Mikabomb's sound combines abrasive, energetic rock 'n' roll music with succinctly sweet pop hooks that dig so deep into your head you will find them surfacing in most unlikely of places. Add to this an incredibly boisterous live show and you can begin to understand how excited we were to hang out with these Brits. Do yourself a favor and check out this band the next time they roll through your town.
