The Dickies are weird. Really. And it's not just the penis puppet named Stewart or the songs about inane stuff or even the bass player dressed in a multi-colored bear suit. What's really weird is that they're the first LA punk band to be picked up by a major label (back in the '70s!) and haven't ever really broken up. And it's even more strange that such a band continues to blow away audiences in every town they travel to. The venue was packed by the time these weirdoes hit the stage. And from the very first note, the band just wouldn't let up.
Song after song of the most fun, catchy tunes you'll ever hear. The energy these guys give off is simply amazing. Especially when considering how hot the room was! The point is, It is not possible to leave a Dickies show with out donning the largest smile you've had in a while. And if it is…then you're probably someone pretty stupid.
