You should be familiar with the Bouncing Souls by now. On the (overcrowded) East Coast the band has become an institution. I was talking with some friends at the show and we were reminiscing about the Souls of yesteryear, the basement shows and all the crazy things attached to them. Nothing/everything has changed but at its core, the band holds true to same values and emotions that spearheaded its inception.
This particular show was a party celebrating their latest release, Bouncing Souls Live. The Souls first record came was released their own Chunksaah Records, as is the new live 2 CD set.
The show itself was awesome. The crowd was filled with friends and family. For some it was their first time seeing the band and for others it was their 100th. Fresh blood is an important thing about the Souls. For every person that has a history with the band there is a whole lot more plugging in and experiencing what a real punk band is like. It's just one of a hundred reasons why the Bouncing Souls continue to stand apart from the barrage of meaningless crap bands.
